Scott Takeda

By training, Scott really should be working on the next generation Apple device or creating data storage for NASA. He was a science geek and attended college to get a science degree in electrical engineering, but somewhere in his sophomore year, his brain circuits shorted after getting a C. His first. Ever. So he switched to storytelling. After a decade-long run in television news, he opened his own production company, tallying six Emmys, a Gold WorldMedal and countless other awards including two Photographer of the Year titles. He also works in front of the camera as an actor. Perhaps you’ve seen him on “Gone Girl,” “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Drunk History” or most recently, recurring on “General Hospital.” (Interesting side note, he booked all of these roles on self-tape. In fact he’s booked all of his 60-plus roles on self-tape. Hmmm…maybe he should coach self-taping.) He occasionally wonders what his 18-year-old self would think if he knew he’d eventually earn a living as an artist. He remains grateful that a time-machine does not exist because he's certain this revelation would short circuit his teenager brain. Scott's IMDB - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1956106/

Accolades for Scott & Self Tape 101

I highly recommend Scott Takeda’s 101 Class regarding making your self-tape auditions great so you’ll book the job! Scott is a fine actor, director, Emmy winner, etc. He knows exactly what to do and how to do it-lighting, camera angles, position, slates, equipment, examples, etc. I am a working actress and had no idea that there was so much to learn. In this COVID-19 era of do-it-yourself-at-home, you will do yourself a huge favor taking Scott’s classes. He is kind, very knowledgeable, supportive, talented and truthful. I’m taking his 201 class next week. - Linda Montana
